For beginners, a Day of Zen with Michael Mugaku Zimmerman is an opportunity to learn about meditation in a supportive atmosphere. For people familiar with sitting meditation (zazen), a Day of Zen will provide a space for deepening that practice. Meditation practice sitting in a chair is entirely acceptable. You will receive posture and breath instruction — the essence of Zen practice. Participants will:
- Engage in sitting and walking meditation.
- Listen to a Dharma talk and receive meditation instruction.
- Have the opportunity for an individual interview with the teacher (dokusan).
- Enjoy a healthy and delicious lunch we provide, with a vegetarian option.
Space is limited. We are unable to offer walk-in registration.
